FACTORS TO CONSIDER
To optimize image quality and increase presentation effectiveness, choose the right screen for your needs. Consider two major criteria—audience area & format.
Audience area
The screen should be large enough for those seated at the back of the room to view text, data and images, without overwhelming those seated in the front. For optimum seating arrangements, the first row of seating should be 2 screen heights from the projection screen.
Format

- Height/width formulas
The following calculations help determine screen height for maximum legibility.
16:9 (HDTV)
Height x 1.78 = Width
Width / 1.78 = Height
16:10
Height x 1.6 = Width
Width / 1.6 = Height
3:1 (Multi-image)
Height x 3 = Width
Width / 3 = Height
-Ceiling height
Standard viewing height of most screens is 48 ̋ off the floor. Applicable where seating area and projection screen are on the same level, and the seating area is limited to several rows.
E-Z Fold® screen height increases in 6 ̋ increments. Screen height increases, but room height may be a limitation.
Check room dimensions before selecting screen size to prevent low screen height and limited viewing access.
